watchin’ now--

switchin’ sides
and goin’ with
the lady,
Rachel Alexandra
(she’s not little).
Borel’s choosin’
rides in favour
of the gal.
Mine that Bird,
he’s champing
at the bit
once more
and Baffert
knows the score--
he’s talkin’
ice cream – vanilla cones
versus banana-
splits.
Everyone’s
up in Calvin’s face
Costas and Leno
aksin’ all their
questions:
What was it like?
Why’d you switch?
What if The Bird wins?
Speculatin’s high
Will the strange bird
further fly?
Trainer, Chip
keeps limpin’ along
on high hopes
and metal sticks
Must be
droppin’ bricks
waitin’ for the
gates to slide
open…
and they’re off!
