Book Spine Poetry (a contest)

A friend of mine recently sent me a link for a poetry contest.  Other friends (poets, mainly) will tell you that I really tend to shy away from contests and competitions, but I liked the gist of this one.

Go to a shelf of books - a public library, bookstore, or even your own shelves (as I have done) and create a poem using the spines of books that you select.

It's not as easy as it sounds!  I've been working on one for the past hour and the photo above tells you what I've come up with.

I call it: "Stephen"

Visit the Gladstone website for details and see what you can come up with!  Post yours on your blog, pop back here, and let me know and I'll come and read yours.

By the way, I'm not sure where Gladstone is located - England, I'm guessing, but the prize is a bottle of bubbly, and even if by some miracle, I were to win, I can't head over to pick up the prize.  Maybe YOU are in a position to do so. (It's actually in Wales. I didn't know that!)

(If it were a bottle of single malt whiskey, I might have to find a way!)
